Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
Our precious wife, mother and grandmother, Carol Jean England, passed away on January 23, 2010. Born in Oklahoma City, April 24, 1927, she graduated summa cum laude from Capitol Hill High School in 1945. Carol married Bill England in 1950, who was her lifelong sweetheart. She worked at Mutual Federal S&L, retiring in 1992. Her parents brought her to Wilmont Place Baptist Church as a baby, and ,after making a profession of faith, she was a member there until her death. She held many positions of leadership at Wilmont, one of her favorites being Cradle Roll. Loving reading, she joined the church library staff and became its leader for over 40 years. In 1998, seeing the need for young people to memorize scripture, she started Bible Drill. Carol loved giving gifts. She received great joy by giving away handmade items to family and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alberta Gordon; sister-in-law, Reba Gordon; daughter-in-law, Deanna England and grandson, Jay Trusley.
Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Bill England; daughters: Tricia and Mark Meacham; Cindy and Greg Dean; Jana and Max Burgess; Marsha and Larry Brooks; son, Charles England; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Malcolm Gordon. She was greatly loved, and we miss her. Viewing will be 4-8 PM today. Services will be 10 AM, Wed., Jan. 27, 2010, at Wilmont Place Baptist Church, 6440 S. Santa Fe.
