Perry stayed there to become a cowboy. Then he lied about his age and joined the army in WW1. He travelled around the world most of his life, was an explorer, and became a member of the Explorers Club based upon his travels. He became an attorney, worked for the international courts in Shanghai and eventually the Cal-Tex Oil company. He married late in life at 45.
