WW I draft registration shows 27 MAR 1884, WW II draft registration shows 27 MAR 1887, Social Security application shows 27 MAR 1889, headstone shows 1887. DLB 2017.2

He married Rosella Smith, daughter of William C. Smith and Ann C. Bollinger, The date and location of this marriage, or whether it was ever legally formalized, is not known. The WW I draft registration of David A. "Windell" indicates that David's nearest relative was son James, and his address was "Ill" (Illinois). David, Rosetta, and James have not been found in the 1920 census. DLB 2017. David Alva Windle died in 1957 in Greene Co., OH.

He was buried in 1957 in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, Greene Co., OH, Find A Grave Memorial# 160059266.
