RICHARD E. “BUCK” JENKINS

70, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, January 29, 1998 at 9:41 p.m. He had been a resident of Hope House Manor since July, 1996 and formerly resided at 3247 Saint Paris Pike. He was born September 26, 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia, the son of John L. and Myrtle (Robertson) Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during World War II and retired from Kenosha Auto Transport. He was often known by many as the tire man.

His survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Margaret (Wagner) Jenkins; two daughters and one son-in-law, Genevieve and Kenneth Holycross, Jr. of New Carlisle, Catherine M. Reeder of Springfield; five sons and daughters-in-law, Calvin R. and Louann Jenkins of Troy, Ohio, Jerry R. and Pearl Jenkins, Gary N. and Deby Jenkins, Timothy J. and Cheryl Jenkins, all of Springfield, Jonathan L. and Doreen Jenkins of Cheshire, Connecticut; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Donald L. and Jeanette Chance of Springfield; one brother, Jim Jenkins of Springfield; numerous grandchildren, including special grandson Rodney A. and Angela Jenkins; and numerous great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, SPRINGFIELD, where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Brother Bill Wilson of Possum Road Church of God officiating. Interment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Foundation.

He was buried in February 1998 in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Clark Co., OH, Findagrave #47835381.
