Billie Ray DeVault Stanton, 83 of Asheville departed this life July 1, 2012 at John F. Keever Solace Center.

Born in Asheville, She was the daughter of the late Edward Ray DeVault and Gwendolyn B. DeVault, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles H. Stanton, Jr., a daughter, Linda Michael, and a son, Charles Ray Stanton.

Billie leaves behind daughters, Cathy Witherspoon and Laura Francis; special nephew and wife, Edward and Heather Sinclair; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Lewis Memorial Park, 415 Beaver Dam Road, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 10th. Family and friends will be received 30 minutes prior to service.

EILEEN GRIFFITH

Eileen Griffith, 89, died Jan. 31, 2012 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 23, 1922 in Little River, the daughter of Leland T. & Elsie Mae (Keever) DeVault.

She was a resident of Lyons since 1949, formerly of Hutchinson. She was a homemaker and a 50-year member of the VFW of Lyons.

She married Ray A. Griffith on Apr. 16, 1938 in Newton. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1983.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Griffith of Mulvane and Fred Griffith of Wichita; five brothers, Robert “Bud” DeVault, Bobby Dean DeVault, Don DeVault, Johnny DeVault and Garry DeVault, all of Hutchinson; sister, Marjorie Baerg of Buhler, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Delores Smith and infant daughter, Adelia Mae; two sons, Warren and Leonard Griffith; three brothers, Keith, Kenneth and Richard DeVault and one sister, Alice Hollinger.

Funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons with Rev. Dr. Quentin Bennett. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Rice County Council on Aging in care of the funeral home.

She was buried in February 2012 in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Rice Co., KS.

Marjorie Mae Baerg, 82, died March 31, 2012 at Buhler Sunshine Home. She was born August 7, 1929 in Hutchinson to Leland Tasaway and Ona Mae (Wiard) DeVault. Marjorie married Royce D. Baerg on November 18, 1949 in Inman. He died September 22, 2002. She was the registrar at Manhattan High School for 20 years and belonged to Beta Sigma Phi and Chapter Laucate of Alpha Lambda. She was a member of Buhler United Methodist Church. Marjorie graduated from Buhler High School then attended Adele Hale Business College in Hutchinson from 1947-1948. She lived in Junction City from 1954- 1968 then moved to Arkansas City, where she lived until 1974, moving to Manhattan, before returning to Buhler in 2009. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Hashagen and husband Ron, Westmoreland, KS, and Diane Reinkemeyer and husband David, Houston, Tx; son, David Baerg and wife Lori, Lee's Summit, MO; five brothers, Don (who died April 3, 2012), Dean and wife Sharon, Garry and wife Dede, and Robert and wife Carolyn DeVault all of Hutchinson and John and wife Norma DeVault of Wichita; five grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Baerg, Eric Reinkemeyer and wife Jill, Sarah Reichling and husband Joel, and Greg Reinkemeyer; five great grandchildren, Anna, Abby and Ashley Reichling, Alyssa and Colton Reinkemeyer. Donald Lee DeVault, 77, died April 3, 2012, at Sunshine Meadows Nursing Home, Buhler, Kan. He was born Dec. 16, 1934, to Leland T. and Ona Mae Wiard DeVault in Hutchinson, Kan. He was a 1953 graduate from Buhler High School.

On Jan. 29, 1960, he married Carol Jean Moore in Albert, Kan. She died March 17, 1999.

He worked at Winchesters Foods for 29 years and retired from Doskocil and belonged to the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68. Survivors include: daughters, Lisa DeVault, Brenda Partridge and husband Bob; son, Scott DeVault and wife Kristi; grandchildren, Alyssa and Dylan Partridge, Marissa Cook, Jordan DeVault; brothers, Robert, Bobby Dean, John, Garry DeVault; special friend, Marie Thode, all of Hutchinson. CUMBERLAND -- Marion "Pat" (DeVault) Leedy-Robertson, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 20, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Leedy-Robertson was the daughter of the late Robert Carr Cobb and Ette (DeVault) Cobb. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph G. Leedy Sr., 1953; her second husband, George B. Robertson; and a brother, Phillip Cobb.

A homemaker, Pat was a member of the Central Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her son, Joseph G. Leedy Jr., Cumberland; her daughters, Patricia A. Kahn and her husband Elliott, Los Angeles, Calif., Deborah K. Miller, Ellerslie, and Pamela L. Robertson, Cumberland; her brothers, Robert C. Cobb Jr., Knoxville, Tenn., Hugh E. Cobb and his wife Annie, Springfield, Mo., and Gilbert L. Cobb and his wife Margie, Morganton, N.C.; her sisters, Nanette Huffman and her husband Ronald and Mary Caroline Powell and her husband Jack, all of Morganton; as well as seven grandchildren, Joseph III, Patrick, Kyle and Brett Leedy; Addison, Sterling and Channing Kahn of California; and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Leedy.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park.

He married Irene Zielonka on 20 April 1957 in Cook Co., IL; Irene was first married to Leonard Welsh Wojciechowski in 1948, and had children Linda (who married Michael Dixon) and Leonard "Lenny" Wojciekowski. Linda changed her maiden name to "Walker" and Lenny adopted the Cobb surname of his step-father.

Robert remarried to Fonda Lee "Francie" Hensley 30 DEC 1974, Anderson Co., TN, daughter of Erskin and Anna (Lindsey) Hensley. She was born 19 MAY 1938 and died 26 NOV 2001 at Overton Co., TN. KNOXVILLE, TN Robert C. Cobb Jr., born April 2, 1928, departed Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016. He was a World War II veteran and a graduate from Lees-McRae College (1952) and FSU (1955).

Survived by children, Linda (Mike), Evette (Jack), Robert, Lisa and Warren; three siblings, Nanette (Ron), Mary (Jack) and Gilbert (Margie); also many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A family gathering will be held on the anniversary of his 88th birthday.

Phillip D. Cobb, 71, of Morganton, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Grace Hospital.

Born March 9, 1932 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Robert C. Cobb and Ettie DeVault Cobb.

He was a member of Mountain Grove United Methodist Church.

Mr. Cobb served in the US Navy during the Korean War and in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Air Force in 1971.

He was a current member of the Glen Alpine Ruritan Club, and a former president and vice president of the Oak Hill Ruritan Club. He served on the Burke County Fair Board from 1988-1990, and again from 1993-1997. Mr. Cobb was a former member of the Farm Bureau Board of Governors and was a past member of the American Legion Club in Glen Alpine.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cobb of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Paul Hendrix of Little Rock, AR; brothers, Robert C. Cobb, Jr., Hugh E. Cobb and Gilbert L. Cobb; and sisters, Marian D. Robertson, Nannette Huffman and Mary C. Powell; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church and conducted by Rev. Perry Brown and Rev. Charles Sisk.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

He was buried in March 2003 in Mountain Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Morganton, Burke Co., NC, Findagrave #15109197.

Hugh Cobb, 81, of Ozark, Mo., passed away May 21, 2015 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by family.
He was born November 26, 1933 in Morganton, NC to Robert & Ettie Cobb. He retired from U.S. Army Special Forces in 1973 as a Veteran of the Korean & Vietnam Wars. He accepted Christ while in battle serving our country and was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Rogersville, Mo.

He was united in marriage to Anna Autry on June 27, 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; two daughters, Lisa Kissee & husband Ron, and Cindy McClelland & husband Terry; three Grandsons, Jeremy Kissee & wife Rhonda, Jason Kissee & wife Haily, and Matthew McClelland & wife Melissa; five Great Grandchildren, Autumn Kissee, Kayleigh McClelland, Violet Kissee, Aaliyah McClelland & Riley McClelland; plus a special cousin Ennis Swain.

Gilbert Lee Cobb (83) originally from Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord on July 11th, 2020 following a brief illness where he resided in Rogersville, TN.

Gilbert was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served 20 years as a certified Nuclear Technician and E6 petty officer 1st class. As a petty officer, his main duties were on USS GILMORE. His duty assignments were in Norfork, VA, Charleston, SC, Key West, Florida, and Rhoda, Spain. He had numerous awards and decorations during his time of service. Following his retirement, he served in the Navy Reserve for 10 years. He also retired from Grace Hospital with 18 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert & Ettie Cobb, Brothers; R.C., Hugh, and Phillip Cobb, one sister Marian Robertson and mother and father-in-law Earl and Hazel Aldridge.

Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Marjorie Cobb, Children; Freda Deviney (Gene), Rick Cobb (Robin), Kenneth Cobb (Angie), and Dale Cook. Grandchildren; Steve Deviney, Mindy Martin (Travis) , Jordy Cobb, Chelsey Lawson (Jason) , McKenzie Cobb (Kassie), Michelle and Melissa.
