Truman Earl Eckley, of Lake Oswego, died due to complications related to Alzheimer's disease.

He was the youngest of seven children. Reared on a farm in Boone, Iowa, Truman worked with his family to harvest corn and other crops for their Midwest farm community during the 1930s. In 1946, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Korea. While in the service, he married Patsy Livengood of St. Helens. After serving his country for 10 years, Truman began his career as a salesman working for Swift Meat and also found success in his career with Playtex, Christian Dior, and later Guerlain, where he worked for 18 years until he retired in 1993. Following retirement, Truman founded a small cosmetic company. In 1989, the Northwest Cosmetic Association honored him with the commemorative award for "Outstanding Achievement and Excellence" in the industry. Truman was an active member of Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, The Gideons International and volunteered at a local senior center. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Truman is survived by his wife, Patsy; two daughters, Pamela Freimuth and her husband, Wilson Freimuth, and Shelly Wahl; five grandchildren, John Munsey, Michael Munsey and his wife, Ali Cornelius; Jennifer Munsey, Amy Munsey and Stephanie Munsey. He is further survived by one brother, Virgil Eckley, and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Atkinson, and four brothers Ed, Walter, Paul, and Lester Eckley.

He was buried in March 2009 in Dundee Cemetery, Dundee, Yamhill Co., OR, Findagrave #34646842.

IDA GROVE, Iowa -- Clarence Frederick Wilson, 84, of Ida Grove, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 1991, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Ida Grove, with the Rev. Roy Hjelmaas officiating. Burial will be in the Ida Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m today at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove.

Mr. Wilson was born Oct. 30, 1906, in LaPlatta, Mo., the son of Lewis and Tillie (Curry) Wilson. He married Agnes Higgins March 24, 1928. She died Nov 26, 1973. He married Mona Schriever Oct. 29, 1976. He lived in Lake City, Wall Lake, Lake View and Jefferson, Iowa prior to moving to Ida Grove in 1925. He worked for Ida County; was an independent truck driver; worked for the Ida Grove School District as a custodian and bus driver for more than 13 years; and also worked at Morningside Care Center for more than four years.

Mr. Wilson was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ida Grove and IOOF Lodge of Ida Grove.

Survivors include his wife, an daughter-in-law, Delores Wilson, of Ida Grove; two granddaughters, Karen Sue Meister of Sioux City and Connie Lee Boger of Ida Grove; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters Thelma John of Grand Junction, Dorothy Miller of Denison and Leta Poindexter of Winston-Salem, N.C., a half-brother, Don Jones, of Jamaica, Iowa; four step-children, Evelyn Havenga of Hampton, Larry Schriever of Frazier Park, Calif., Robert Schriever of Bradford, and Barb Nigg of Crete, Neb.; 10 stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, John, and a sister, Lola.

He was buried in August 1991 in Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida Grove, Ida Co., IA, Findagrave #47251088.

Thelma L. John, 88, of Jefferson died of a heart ailment Monday at Greene County Medical Center there. Services will be private, with private burial at Rippey Cemetery in Rippey.

Mrs. John was born in Iowa and had lived in Rippey, Bagley, Osceola and Grand Junction before moving to Jefferson in 1992. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeannette Putney of Storm Lake and Donna Hagerman of Ithaca, Neb.; two sons, David of Jefferson and Jerry of Des Moines; a sister, Leta Poindexter of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a brother, Don Jones of Scranton; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandhildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Greene County Medical Center Long Term Care Activity Fund.

She was buried in February 2000 in Rippey Cemetery, Rippey, Greene Co., IA, per newspaper obituary.

Donald Raymond Jones, age 82, of Rippey died on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Monday, February 15, 2010 from 12 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Masonic Lodge service at 7 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Franklin Twp. Cemetery at Cooper, IA.

Memorials may be given to family and may be left at the Funeral Home.

He was buried in February 2010 in Franklin Township Cemetery, Cooper, Greene Co., IA.
