Martha M. Bruce, 90, of London died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at The Madison House in London. She was a very active member of the Center Street Church of Christ in Christian Union in London where she taught Sunday School for many years and very much enjoyed visiting with the sick. She was a member of the Madison County Hospital Auxiliary and had been a volunteer there since the hospital was built. She, along with her husband, was on the planning committee for the London Senior Citizens and for several years she was employed part time for the Madison County Children's Home. On May first she and her family and friends celebrated her 90th birthday.

She was born May 1, 1912, in Mount Sterling to the late William and Mary Lift Toops and was predeceased by three brothers, John Hamrick, Alva Hamrick and Glendon Toops; a sister, Alice Armentrout; and in 1980 by her husband, Wade H. Bruce.

She is survived by three daughters, Avanelle (Bob) Oberlin of Marysville, Alice Faye Round of Huron and Donna (J.E.) Fugate of Big Stone Gap, Va.; seven grandchildren, John (Michelle) Oberlin, David (Laura) Oberlin, Doug (Teresa) Oberlin, Janet Oberlin and Doris Oberlin and Lenny Round and Chris (Linda) Round; 12 great-grandchildren; and

nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rader-Lynch and Dodds Funeral Home, 124 E. High St., London. The Rev. Lee Stanley will officiate and burial will be at the Kirkwood Cemetery.

Minnie May Shankle Terbovitz was born September 16, 1899, in Carroll County, Missouri to Isaac and Ella Roush Shankle. She passed away September 5, 1963 at a Havre hospital.

With her parents, Minnie came to Montana in 1913 from their home in Penacolsa, Kansas. They homesteaded north of Chinook in the Cherry Ridge area.

She was married to Michael Terbovitz December 29, 1917 at Chinook and the couple lived out their lives in the Lohman community. They had two sons, Earl and Harold, who both reside at Lohman.

Surviving in addition to her sons are three brothers; Rev.Lewis Shankle, Roswell, New Mexico; Abraham Shankle, Westville, Oklahoma; Earl Shankle, Noti,Oregon and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Donely, Noblesville, Indiana. There are also three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who mourn the passing of a loved family member.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Terbovitz were conducted Monday,September 9, 1963 at two O'clock from the Kuper Funeral Home in Chinook, Rev. Leon Johnson pastor of the Methodist Church officiated at the services.
