Boyd Wylie, Md., Dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, "You are correct in your assumption that Dr. Jacob Coblentz was graduated by the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1819." Refer to William's History of Frederick County, Md., page 587: Jacob Coblentz, born Middletown, Md., March 17, 1795, M.D., University of Maryland, 1819, practiced at Middletown 1819-38. Deacon and Ruling Elder in the Reformed Church. His health breaking down he removed, in the fall of 1838, to Dayton, Ohio, where he engaged in drug business. Died in Dayton, Ohio, February 15, 1861." Again on page 464 see: "In the fall of 1829, Peter Coblentz and his son, Dr. Jacob Coblentz, visited Cavetown and urged Rev. Bucher to come to the rescue of the Middletown Congregation. . . ." His will, written 1.14.1858 and probated 2.19.1861 is on record Montgomery County, Ohio. Wills Record Book 1, page 5. Both are buried Woodlawn Cemetery, Sec. 89-Lot 392, Dayton, Ohio. Three children: Elizabeth E., Malinda A., Ann Rebecca.
