Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
Aner Edgar Anderson was born in Sweden on August 21, 1891. His parents were Peter Anton Anderson and Martha (Marta Kasja) Nasman. When he was 10 months old, these three immigrated to the United States. All three came through Ellis Island during its first year of operation. They settled in Youngstown, Ohio, where several of Martha's family had already settled. Two other sons were born to Peter and Martha, Robert Axsel was born in 1893 and Harry was born in 1895. Peter and his three sons moved to Turlock, California and were in Turlock for the 1910 census. Aner served in the U.S Navy during the years of World War I but did not see action. He was stationed for much of his service time in Key West, Florida. Before going to Key West with the Navy, he met and began to court Hallie Virginia Lewis, also of Turlock. Peter Anton Blomberg Anderson
M, #132407, b. 23 July 1863, d. 17 June 1931
Biography
Peter Anton Blomberg Anderson was born on 23 July 1863 in Ostersund, Östersunds kommun, Jämtlands län, Sweden. He married
Marta Kasja Nasman. He died on 17 June 1931 in Turlock, Stanislaus Co., CA,
Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
Peter Anton was born to an unwed mother named Sara Christina Blomberg. He used his mother's maiden name until he was about age 10 when he began to write in cursive. We have a school book of his in which he practiced writing his name. At first the family thought that he must have met his natural father & decided to take his name, but that does not seem to be what happened. A researcher in Sweden tried to track down the natural father. Sara, his mother, never lived or worked anywhere near someone with the name Anders thus Anderson. Peter was actually raised in part by a fisherman who took him in as a foster son. His name was Per Berggren, Peter became very close to him, because even after he married & went to America, he returned for Per Breggren's funeral. We believe he stayed close to his mother, they did move from one part of Sweden to another together for awhile, until Peter needed a father figure & wanted to learn to fish.
We really don't know the story of how he and future wife, Martha met, but they did marry and have a son in Sweden before applying to go to America. On those papers, he said he was a Fisherman by trade & moving to Youngstown, Ohio, USA. Martha, his wife, had family already located in Youngstown. Two more sons were born in Ohio & by 1910, Martha decided to move to San Francisco, California area. Peter wanted to move to Turlock, California & farm. His sons eventually all came with him & they did make trips to see Martha, but things were strange with her. She died just five years later in 1915, a relatively young woman, the name Rollins is on her tombstone, no divorce or marriage to a Rollins or anyone other than Peter has been found.
Peter lived until 1931, all three sons served and survived World War I & came home & married & had families. Their Find A Graves are attached to their father & mother's pages.

Marta Kasja Nasman
F, #132408, b. 28 April 1870, d. 4 September 1915
Biography
Marta Kasja Nasman was born on 28 April 1870 in Tyndero, Timrå kommun, Västernorrlands län, Sweden. She married
Peter Anton Blomberg Anderson. She died on 4 September 1915 in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA,
Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
Martha was born to Anders Nasman & Martha Kajsa Lena Dufvenberg in Skaggsta, Tyndero, Vastermorlands, Sweden. She was their first child, there were nine children born to this couple all in Sweden.
Martha met and married Petter Anton Andersson in Sweden and came to America with him and their first born child in 1892. By 1900 they lived in Ohio where many of her family members resided. By 1906, Peter and two of his sons traveled to Turlock, CA where he bought a farm. Martha did not go with them, a recent discovery was made that she did not leave Youngstown, OH until after Peter left with two of their sons. She was living with a man named William Powell, her son Robert was listed as his step son & attending college. I have not found a divorce from Peter or Marriage to a William Powell. The story goes a bit fuzzy at this point, we do not know exactly when Martha left Ohio; however, we acquired her Death Certificate which states she had resided in San Francisco one year, one month & 5 days at the time of her death. We know she got sick, her sons thought she wasn't in her right mind, she died a young woman. Her grave is marked with the last name ROLLINS, Peter stayed in touch with her and we imagine she saw her sons on occasion; however they never lived together since about 1906 when Peter received his Naturalization Record in Turlock, CA in Aug. of 1906. Peter never remarried. We recently discovered her marriage to John C Rollins, her sons requested the word MOTHER on her headstone. Peter would not have put that on for her since he no longer was married to her. In his 1910 census he said he was Divorced. This John Clayton Rollins, now believed to be her husband did not want to meet with the family & answer any questions. He took off right after the service and they never heard from him again. They did receive the blanket chest she came from Sweden with and a few family treasures, all of which are in our family.
