DAVID G. KING

David G. King, 87, 118 W. Unaka, died in Memorial Hospital early yesterday after a long illness.

A native of Washington County, he was a son of Lafayette and Adaline Giesler King and lived for 50 years in Los Angeles. He returned to Johnson City in 1947. He was a member for many years of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a brother, J. S. King, city, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Morris is in charge.

NOTE: David's brother, Milton Charles King, was not mentioned in David's obituary.

FUNERAL NOTICE - Johnson City, Tennessee; January 22, 1964:

KING, DAVID G. -- Funeral services for David G. King, age 87, 118 W. Unaka Ave., who died in Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning, will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the New Bethel Presbyterian Church, Piney Flats with the Rev. Dan Graham and the Rev. W. T. King officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arden, Ned, Stanley, Alton and Claude King, Herbert White, Edgar Crussell, and Luke Hartley. Flower attendants will be the ladies of Piney Flats Community. The body will remain in the Morris Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 'til 9 p. m. Wednesday and will be taken to the church 1:30 p. m. Thursday to await the service hour. Pallbearers are requested to meet at the church at 2:15 p. m. Thursday. Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was buried in January 1964 in New Bethel Cemetery, Piney Flats, Sullivan Co., TN, Findagrave #46196831.

Mrs. Leona King

Kingsport relatives have received word of the death of Mrs. Leona Latture King, former Johnson City resident, at her home in Los Angeles, Cal., Wednesday.

Survivors include her husband, D. G. King; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Larimer of Washington and Mrs. Ollie Giesler of Kingsport; two nieces, Misses Mabel and Margaret Duggett and two nephews, R. H. Doggett and R. H. Hickey, all of Kingsport.

The body will be brought back to Johnson City and burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery. Date of the funeral has not yet been set.

She was buried in February 1947 in New Bethel Cemetery, Piney Flats, Sullivan Co., TN, Findagrave #46197005.
