Stephen James Curtis

Stephen James Curtis, 61, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, in Tulsa, Okla. He was born Dec. 17, 1943, in Paducah to James A. and Sue (Mays) Curtis. He was a graduate of Lambuth University, University of Arizona and Washburn University Law School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain, and commanded the Titan II missile. He was active in the Gilcrease Hills Home Owners Association, where he served on the board and finance committee for many years. Besides his civic activities, he was a professional tax attorney with both CPA and JD credentials.

He is survived by his parents, James and Sue Curtis of Paducah; two brothers, Dana Curtis of Daphne, Ala., and Mark Curtis of Paducah; one sister, Cassie Klumpp of Littleton, Colo.; one son, Andy Curtis of Oak Park, Ill.; one grandson, Adam Curtis also of Oak Park; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in Paducah on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah followed by graveside services at Mount Kenton Cemetery for the family. A memorial service in Tulsa will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Nov. 5, 2005.
