William Raymond "Bill" Presnell, 77, of Highland, IL, died August 13, 2020.

Bill was the founder and proud owner of Decal Specialties, a sign and graphics company specializing in the production and installation of lettering and logos for fleet vehicles.

Prior to forming Decal Specialties in the early 1980s, Bill worked many years as a salesman in the trucking industry spending time at Trailmobile, Midwest Freightways, and Truck Centers, Inc. He originally entered the workforce at Rawlings Sporting Goods in their Product Development Division.

Bill had a youthfulness that was contagious and he was a man of many interests including cars, sports, music, boating, cooking, home improvements, business, politics, his many dogs and a good debate.

He was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals, Blues and Rams fan who, in 1998, attended every Cardinals home game, the year Mark McGwire broke Roger Maris' home run record. He was also in attendance for every home game of the Rams' 1999-2000 run to the Super Bowl. He loved attending sporting events of all kinds, especially when surrounded by his family and friends.

Bill enjoyed frequenting establishments that feature live music, good food and fun people, a number of which are located in the Soulard neighborhood of the City of St. Louis.

One of his greatest passions was planning and going on vacations to tropical destinations, especially Hawaii. Over the years, Bill vacationed in Hawaii on numerous occasions and after each visit he always yearned to go back.

Born January 9, 1943, in Mt. Carmel, IL, he was the son of the late William Elijah and Hazel Marie (Riggs) Presnell.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Connie Sue of Highland IL; two sons: W. (J.) Presnell, Jr. of DeSoto, MO and G. Presnell of St. Louis, MO; two stepsons: Shane (Stacey) of Highland, IL and Nick (Kelly) of Highland, IL; three grandchildren; and a step granddaughter.

Service: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 2301 Lafayette Ave., St Louis, MO 63104.

Immediately following, all are invited to join the family at Hammerstone's bar & restaurant (Bill's favorite hangout), to share memories of Bill and celebrate his life.

Blanche L. (Southard) (Brookshire) Fipps, 86, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Rolla, went home to be with the Lord, Nov. 29, 2009, at University Hospital in Columbia. Blanche L. Fipps will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Null & Son with the Revs. Chuck Whitmire and Ray Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery north of Rolla.

Blanche Fipps was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Maries County to William Jacob and Ada Christine (Riley) Southard. On Jan. 15, 1944, she married Joseph W. Brookshire. After the death of her first husband, Blanche married Delmar B. Fipps in 1958. Mrs. Fipps worked along side her husbands in the construction and sheet metal businesses.

Mrs. Fipps also worked at the Rolla Shoe Factory, a clothing factory, and as a telephone operator. Her last place of employment was Talema Electronics of which she was employed for almost 14 years, retiring at age 73.

Blanche dearly loved listening to gospel-quartet music. She enjoyed using her computer card program to make cards for family and friends and liked very much sending and receiving emails. She was an accomplished seamstress who sewed for others creating garments from doll clothes to bridal gowns and men's suits to winter coats until a stroke took away this ability in 1998.

Blanche Fipps was preceded in death by both husbands, an infant daughter, both parents, one stepdaughter, Dorothy Wilson, one step grandchild, David Brookshire, one brother, Claude Southard, and one sister, Margaret Moreland. Survivors include two children and four step children; Janet Sidener and husband David, of Hardy, Va., Brenda Mesplay and husband David, of Columbia, Mo., Charlotte Fowler and husband Lowell, of Salem, Mo., Maxine Baird and husband Don, of Salem, Mo., Eugene Brookshire and wife Ruby, of Newburg, Mo., and Geneva Miller and husband Rich, of Rolla; as well as 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Blanche is also survived by one brother, Joseph Southard, of Vichy, Mo. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Assembly of God in Rolla. All arrangements are under the direction of the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla.

Joseph Stanley Southard of Rolla, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 81. He was born in Maries County, Missouri on March 6, 1936 to the late William Jacob and Ada Christine (Riley) Southard.

Joseph worked in the construction business for over fifty-five years, mainly building commercial buildings. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working with his horses, fishing, hunting and gigging. He will be remembered as a hard worker and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Joseph is survived by his children, Michael (Susan) Southard of Rolla, MO, Barbara (Donald) Hall of Versailles, MO, Kay (Bruce) Hayes of Rolla, MO and Joy (Patrick) Lemoine of Neptune Beach, FL; grandchildren, Carrie Stark, Kelsey Southard, Kassandra Hayes, Skye Lemoine and Kylie Lemoine; great-grandchildren, Avery Stark, Evan Stark, Ellie Stark and Parker Benne.
