Goldie Laverne Windle, 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Windle, Route 6, McAlester, died today at her home. She was born March 9, 1949 in Haywood. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Windle; five sisters, Sue, Joyce, and Virgie, all of the home. Mrs. Violet Lowrimore of McAlester, and Mrs. Dorthy Edwards, Broken Bow; and three brothers, Bill Windle, Haywood, Bob Windle of Oklahoma City, and John Windle of McAlester. Funeral Services are pending at the Mills-Humphrey Funeral home.
Per Sallie Sue (Windle) Chubbee, Goldie never went to school. She had a form of Down Syndrome and could not talk or walk. Grandpa would carry her with him whenever he went out. She died of double pneumonia and every year spent weeks, and sometimes months in an Iron Lung machine around Christmas time.
She was buried in December 1963 in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Pittsburg Co., OK, Findagrave #21655803.

Mrs. Addie Rosella Windle, 74, of 4227 Cleveland, died at her home early Sunday morning after an extended illness. She had been a Lincoln resident for 39 years.
Born at Ipava, Ill., she came to Geneva in 1883, where she lived until she moved to Lincoln in 1904.
Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Esther Castle, Menlo Park, Calif.; and Mrs. Ola Gillispie, Lincoln; a sister, Mrs. Mary Catherine Hedden of Deshler; one brother, Thelo Houck, of Strang; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. rn. Tuesday at Wadlow's Chapel. Rev. W. F. Perry officiating. Burial will be in Wyuka. (The Lincoln Star, May 24, 1943.)
She was buried in May 1943 in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE, Find A Grave Memorial# 72222930.
