HILO, July 10 (By Radio Teletype)-- Ung Wai Fook, 98, died at 8:35 Wednesday night at Hilo Memorial Hospital. A retired tinsmith, he resided at 675 Hinano Street.
Private services over the ashes were held Thursday at Arruda Mortuary chapel and graveside services will be held at the Chinese Cemetery today with the Reverend Richard Wong officiating.
The family requested that no flowers be sent and that contributions may be made to the local Cancer Society.
Mr. Ung was born October 25, 1854 in the village of Lam Kong, province of Kwong Tung, China. He went to San Francisco in March 1875 and remained in California for 10 years. From California, he came to Hawaii in April 1885. In Hilo on May 9, 1898, he and Wong Chun Hee were married.
To this couple 15 children were born, 14 of whom survive.
Survivors are his wife, 14 children: Ung Soy Afook, physical education teacher, Hilo High School; Mrs. Sam Wong, Apio Ung, Richard Ung, Mrs. Anthony Chang, Harold Ung, Edwin Ung, Mrs. Lois Ung McCracken, Eloise Ung and Robert Ung of Hilo; Mrs. Wellington Chu, Mrs. Masao Tsugawa, Everett Afook and George Ung of Honolulu.

UTICA -- Mrs. Bertha Ella Wagner, 80, widow of Fred Wagner, Utica RFD 2, southwest of Homer, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mercy Hospital, Mt. Vernon, where she had been a patient several days.
She was the daughter of Emory and Almetta (Edman) Wright, and a member of the Presbyterian Church, Homer, and Licking Valley Grange. Her husband died in 1950, and surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Winifred Kern of the home, Mrs. Herschel Wilson, Jr., of Columbus, Mrs. Marian Evans of Cincinnati and Mrs. T. L. Friedler of Dallas, Tex.; two sons, Edgar of Cincinnati and Roger of Woodland Hills, Calif.; also nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Abbie Spaulding, Springfield; one brother, Walt Wright of Elyria. A daughter is deceased.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Presbyterian Church in Homer, with burial in Homer Cemetery. Friends may call the C.C. Law & Sons Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday and at noon Friday. The body will be placed in the church.

Services for Winifred W. Kern, 74, of Utica, formerly of the Homer area, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Homer Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Ross Karnes officiating. Burial will be in Homer Cemetery.
Mrs. Kern died Sunday evening in West Allis (Wis.) Memorial Hospital. She was born May 28, 1914, in Homer, to the late Fred and Bertha (Wright) Wagner.
A retired employee of Denison University, she was a member of Homer Presbyterian Church, Homer Presbyterian Ladies Aid Society, Homer Community Garden Club and Alpha Pi Sigma sorority.
Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Beth) Rappel of West Allis, Wis.; one brother, Edgar Wagner of Sheboygan (sic), Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Marian Evans of Milford, Ohio, Mrs. Margaret Thomas of Mentor, Ohio, and Mrs. Lois Kerr of Waco, Texas, and four grandsons.
