wight E. Work, 75 of Sidney, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 8, 2017 after a long illness. He was born on March 29, 1942 in Warren, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lawrence and Arlene (Tresler) Work.
On June 5, 1960 Dwight married Joyce (Penley) Work who preceded him in death September 27, 1998. He is survived by his partner and best friend, Kathy Bray, four children, Dewey (Annette) Work of Swanton, Oh, Robin (Terry) Deal, Chris Work and Kim Caudill all of Sidney, sisters, Marlene (Gene) Falconer, and Bea (Ken) Carlson both of Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Work.
Dwight loved bowling, golfing and going to the Casino's. He retired as superintendent of Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Oh.
In keeping with Dwight's wishes, his body will be cremated. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Cedar Point Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney.

ALVIN HOLMAN
July 25, 1953 ~ December 4, 2017 (age 64)
Alvin Lee Holman, age 64, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at his home in Smithville, Oklahoma.
Alvin was born on July 25, 1953 in Bremerton, Washington, the son of Royce Holman and Kathleen Howard.
Alvin was a member of the Nanih Chito Old School Baptist Church in Smithville, Oklahoma. He was an over the road truck driver and enjoyed doing mechanic work. Alvin had a good heart and loved helping people.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Royce Holman and a sister, Carol Holman.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Jerri Holman of the home; children Timothy Cook of Cleburne, Texas, Matthew Cook of Alvarado, Texas, Jonathan Cook of Fort Worth, Texas and Amy Loader of Australia; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Lillie Buff of Terrell, Texas, Shirley Holman of Houston, Texas and Jenetta Harris of Deer Park, Texas; a host of other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Watson Cemetery in Watson, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM with Charles Keith Hamrick officiating.

Diane Sharits, 65, of Carthage, Mo., passed away on Sept. 29, 2015 at her home after a year and a half battle with ALS.
Diane was born on Dec. 31, 1949, in Springfield, Mo., to Norman (Johnny) and Betty Virginia (Neese) Parrack. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1967 and Missouri Southern State University in 2006. She worked at the Lamar Democrat early in her career, and owned a clothing store, Sunshine Fashions, in the late '70s.
She moved to Carthage in the early '80s and her love and service to the city of Carthage began shortly, thereafter. She earned her nickname of "Streetlady" through her service as Main Street Carthage director where she was always seen on the "street" of the Carthage Square. She served on Carthage City Council, Powers Museum Board, and numerous other committees and organizations.
She loved antiquing, animals, auctions, yard sales, Maple Leaf, conversations with friends, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Fellowship Hall at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. 8975 County Lane 170, Carthage, MO.
In lieu of flowers. contributions may be made to Medicine Hat, Inc. or Joplin Humane Society.
