Audrey Mae, 2609 SW 27th Street. Born in Willow Springs, MO. Sept 14, 1916, passed away Monday Morn, at St. Anthony's Hospital. Mrs. Morava came to Okla City from Bristow, in 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. in 1975. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Mitchell, and 3 sons, Kenneth & David of Okla City, Richard of Little Rock, Ark; a sister Helen Arter of Leland, N.C.; 2 brothers John H. & Wayne Nouman (sic) of Sand Springs, Okla; her mother-in-law Lizzie Morava; 11 grandchildren & many other loved ones.

Services will be Wed. Aug. 12 at 10 A.M. at Capitol Hill Funeral Home. Burial in the Czechoslovakian National Cemetery.

NOTE: Helen (Seif, Bigler) Arter (1922-2000) was Audrey's half-sister, daughter of her mother and John Arthur Seif (1895-1966), with whom Audrey was raised before she married Elmer Morava. John and (Donald) Wayne Nauman were her half-brothers, sons of her father and Bessie Stiffler. Donna (Nauman) McKee (1931-2001) was also her half-sister -- it is not apparent why she would have been omitted from this obituary. DLB 2025.

Cora McLaughlin, 85, an area resident. died Friday in Tulsa. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Hutchins-Maples Chapel. The Rev. Melvin Duke of the Bristow Free Holiness Church will officiate. Burial is to follow in Welty Cemetery, Welty, under the direction of Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home.

McLaughlin was born Aug. 1, 1908 in Welty. She was a member of the Bristow Free Holiness Church.

She was a retired cook, working for restaurants in Canadian, Texas where she lived for 20 years. She moved to Bristow in 1985 from Sand Springs. She attended schools in the Welty area. She married Herman McLaughlin, Nov. 7, 1972. He preceded her in death in 1982.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy On, Canadian, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was buried in May 1994 in Welty Cemetery, Welty, Okfuskee Co., OK, Findagrave #26721790.

Hattie C. Stiffler was born on March 12, 1923 in Mannford, OK to James Dorton and Annie (Baker) Montgomery. Hattie passed away on June 25, 2023 in Yukon, OK at the age of 100. She married John Stiffler on May 8, 1947 (sic) in Bakersfield, CA. Hattie loved to garden, loved plants and flowers, enjoyed doing puzzles, liked to go on mushroom hunts, and loved taking care of others. McQUAIN, Billy Joe -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel. Chris King will officiate. Interment will be at the Blackburn Cemetery.

Mr. McQuain, 70, of Bristow, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at the Oklahoma Veteran's Center in Claremore. He was born Nov. 15, 1930 in Bristow to Joseph Winn (sic) and Tressie Oleta McQuain. He was married to Frances Earlene Row (sic) in Bristow.

He graduated from Bristow High School in 1948 and was a plumber and a welding inspector, among other things. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict and earned several medals. He attended the First Church of God in Bristow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother.

Survivors are his wife; four children, including Lavada Kay and Clint Walkup, both of Sapulpa; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, including Betty Poston and Phyllis Hall, both of Bristow; and two brothers, including Melvin McQuain of Bristow.

Billy's son with his wife, Mary Starrett, Richard McQuain (omitted from this obituary), was born 26 JUL 1953. Billy's daughter Sharron (omitted from this obituary), with Frances Earlene Roe, was born 16 APR 1954. Evidence exists showing Billy also had a daughter, Jody McQuain (not mentioned in this obituary), with Mary Starrett, although her birth and death dates have not been discovered. Billy and Frances' daughter Lavada Kay McQuain was born substantially later on 3 AUG 1961. DLB 2025.
