Caroline Amanda Law was born about 1849 in near Chesterhill, Morgan Co., OH, Based on the death certificate age, a birth date of 11 jUL 1851 would be calculated, and that date is shown on numerous online genealogies, however she was clearly listed on the 1850 census as age 1. (DLB 2005.)3,2,1 She died on 21 January 1942 in Trimble, Athens Co., OH,

Ohio Death Certificate #13180, shows father's full name and mother's surname "Wendell".

Obituary (findagrave.com):

TRIMBLE--Miss Carrie Law, age 90, died at the home of Miss Kate Martin, Trimble, Wednesday evening following an illness of the past few months. She was born near Chesterhill and moved to Trimble 50 years ago where she had since made her home. Until the time of her illness she lived with Mrs. Ella Daugherty.

The only survivors are several nephews and nieces. Friends may call at the Blower Funeral Home, Glouster, until Friday morning. The body will then be taken to the home of Mrs. Ella Daugherty, where it will remain until time for the funeral, which will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Trimble Methodist Church. Rev. C.E. Palmer will officiate, and burial will be made in the Maplewood Cemetery.

Given the normal course of life in that time and place, she could have been a widow -- no such unaccounted for female McDaniel is listed in the 1850 census in that area of Ohio. DLB 2020. Ann Maria McDaniel died before 2 June 1900 in Ross or Pike Co., OH, James was widowed as of the 1900 census, and living with his daughter Eliza Ober's family.
