Hubbard and Elizabeth Patterson Gilliam, on 13 September 1858 in Greenbrier Co., VA (now WV), Ceremony by A. C. Westwood. The marriage appears to have deteriorated by the summer of 1880 when the census was taken -- Permelia is listed in Kanawha County as the head of household and her occupation was taking in laundry and ironing, while John was living with his brother in Greenbrier County. John H. Wendell later married Sarah F. Hughes on 29 JUN 1882, Summers County, WV. John Henry Windle died after 1880 in Greenbrier Co., WV.
