Funeral Services Will Be Held at Residence on Broad St. Tomorrow Afternoon at 2 o'Clock

William Elbert Keefauver, aged 56 years, passed away at his home on Broad street at 2:30 o'clock this morning. Though he had been ill during the past week, Mr. Keefauver's death came as a profound shock to his many friends and relatives in this section.

Mr. Keefauver is survived by his consort, who was before her marriage Miss Mellie Harrison, sister of Mayor J. W. Harrison, of Kingsport. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. J. W. Martin and one brother, J. C. Keefauver, both of Jonesboro, Tenn. He also leaves a host of near relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Services will be in charge of Rev. E. O. Woodyard and Rev. S. G. Ketron. Interment will take place in the City cemetery.

Active pall bearers will be: Tom C. Warrick, Will S. Pierce, D. H. Pyle, W. W. McDannell, J. C. Cope, George Wexler, Frank B. Purkey and James Dodson.

Honorary pall bearers will be: Will Cox, E. M. Geiger, W. D. Neil, J. B. Nall, W. W. Huffard, Dr. J. V. Hodge, F. L. Cloud, I. M. Fuller, S. P. Pyle, Cam A. King, J. E. Miller and Sam Anderson.

Mr. Keevauver was born in Washington county, Tenn., Nov 15, 1870, being a member of one of the oldest and most prominent families of that section. He was a man loved all who knew him. He had been in failing health for a number of years.

Mr. Keefauver was married to Miss Harrison 31 years ago, to which union was born one child, which died in infancy. He had been a faithful and consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church for 23 years.



He was buried in 1926 in Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport, Sullivan Co., TN, Findagrave #88112121.
