GREGG MCCOY

Gregg McCoy, 56, Jonesboro, died at his residence Sunday after suffering an apparent attack.

He was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved to Jonesborough in early childhood. He was a son of the late Joe and Eliza Beckett McCoy.

He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Johnson City, and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two sons, Joe McCoy III and Robert McCoy, both of Jonesborough; two daughters, Jeanette Street and Elizabeth McCoy, both of Jonesborough; and two grandchildren, Christy Street and Laura McCoy, both of Jonesborough.

Hartman, Johnson City, is in charge.

P. officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from the Knights of Columbus. The body remains in the West Chapel of the funeral home where the family will meet friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 P.M. Hartman Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Ave. is in charge of arrangements.

Robert S. McCoy

Mr. Robert Shelton "Bob" McCoy, 44, 903 Haws Drive, Jonesborough, Tenn., died Friday, September 12, 2003, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after an extended illness.

He was a native of Washington County and a son of Eunice Irene Keefauver McCoy and the late Joseph Gregg McCoy.

Mr. McCoy was self-employed in the floor installation business. He was a graduate of David Crockett High School and a graduate of ETSU with a bachelor's degree in biology. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Mr. McCoy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Johnson City and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife Belinda Carol Fritts McCoy of the home; two daughters, Laura Elizabeth McCoy and Julia Catherine McCoy, both of the home; a brother and-sister-in-law, Joe and Cathy Gregg McCoy III; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Charles Miller, Jonesborough, and Elizabeth McCoy, Johnson City; two mothers- and fathers-in-law, Al and Carolyn Maiden, Jonesborough, and Kenneth and Bobbie Fritts, Elizabethton; a sister and brothers-in-law, Kim and Robby Garland and Stuart and Shannon Fritts, all of Johnson City, and a brother-in-law Marvin Fritts, Mountain City; several nieces and nephews.

MRS. RUTH K. MITCHELL

Mrs. Ruth K. Mitchell, 74, 206 Cherokee St., Jonesboro, died at 5:15 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of Jonesboro and attended Jonesboro United Presbyterian Church.

Her only survivors are cousins, the Keefauver and Crookshank families.

Kiser-Woodall is in charge.
