James D. Williams

James D. Williams, 86, formerly of 322 1/2 Second Avenue SE, and a Cedar Rapids resident 48 years, died Tuesday in a Cedar Rapids nursing home following a long illness.

A retired employe of the North Western railroad, he was born Aug. 24, 1886, in Anamosa, and was married to Anna Johnson in Blairstown.

Surviving are a son, Lester J. Williams, Cedar Rapids; a step-daughter, Bernice Demory, Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three sisters, Clara Thurston, Harriett Murray and Lillian Cohea, all of Cedar Rapids.

Services: Turner chapel east at 10:30 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Earl W. Ostes of Ellis Park Church of God. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the Turner chapel east after 5 p.m. Tuesday and until 10 a.m. Thursday. The casket will not be opened after the service.

Lillian Amanda Cohea, 82, formerly of 1822 Blake Blvd. SE, died Thursday at her son's home in Bangor, Pa., where she had resided for three months.

Born May 10, 1898 at Morley, she was married to William H. Cohea in Cedar Rapids in 1916. He died in 1969.

Surviving are one son, the Rev. William H. Cohea Jr. of Bangor, Pa.; one daughter, Lucille Mikesell of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Clara Thurston of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
